Congratulations, Lizzie!
Lizzy Goldberg is a fifth year graduate student co-mentored by Cathy Mendelsohn and Chao Lu in the Department of Genetics and Development. Lizzy studies the consequences of mutations in NSD1, a histone methyltransferase enzyme, in the pathogenesis of HPV- head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. She has earned an F31 grant for this project. Following completion of her PhD, Lizzy will return to medical school, where she hopes to serve as a liaison between the lab bench and patient bedside. She successfully defended her thesis on May 26, 2022.
