Osasumwen Virginia Aimiuwu defended her PhD thesis, “Modeling Gene Therapy for Intractable Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy” on October 11, 2021. In Wayne Frankel’s lab, Virginia characterized three different mouse models of developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE). She also successfully implemented a proof-of-concept RNAi-based gene therapy approach in one of the DEE models.
